ARUNVAC Water-ring vacuum pumps are
rotary pumps using water as sealing fluid. It basically
consists of cylindrical casing with control dies on either
sides. Inside this consists an eccentrically located
impeller with curved blades. The liquid introduced is set
into rotary motion by the impeller forming a water ring
concentric with casing Cells formed between the blades and
the ring vary in volume from maximum to minimum with each
revolution. The suction medium enters this space through the
exhaust pipe along with the sealing liquid |
INSTALLATION AS A COMPRESSOR
Water ring compressors are equipped on
the pressure side with a water separator in which the
ring-water is separated from the compressed air. This is
fitted with a float valve which allows water to escape. It
is possible to re-circulate this water with a closed system,
similar to that for a vacuum pump, The non-return valve for
a water-ring compressor is to be fitted to the pressure
piping. The working pressure is limited by fitting a safety.
Maximum vacuum attainable by water ring vacuum pumps = 710
mm of hg.
